Grounding resistor is a new type of resistor product in the power system. With the rapid increase of grid load, the capacitor current increases sharply. When the capacitor current exceeds the specified value, intermittent arc grounding overvoltage may occur. The product is connected between the neutral point of the power system and the ground. When a grounding fault occurs in the system, the resistor will limit the fault current and cut off the faulty line or issue a fault alarm signal through the transformed current signal. At the same time, the system is connected with resistors to avoid possible damage to the insulation of the lines and equipment, in order to reduce economic losses. Start resistor
The starting resistor is suitable for SVG STATCOM, When a flexible DC transmission system is started, it can cause damage to the power grid and equipment due to the instantaneous generation of several times the impulse current. Setting up a starting resistor can effectively reduce the starting current of equipment (transformers, motors), ensuring safe operation of the equipment. After the starting process is completed, the resistor is cut off through a bypass switch. For systems with rectifier components in the backend, the starting resistor can limit the charging current of the DC energy storage capacitor for submodules in the power grid, protecting the converter valve and related equipment from high current stress and energy impact caused by high current changes, ensuring equipment safety.

Charge discharge resistor

A charging and discharging resistor is a resistor used to discharge a capacitor after charging, and is usually connected in parallel with the capacitor. When the power supply fluctuates, the capacitor will charge and discharge accordingly. If no charging and discharging resistor is set, the discharge current will start from one end of the capacitor and return to the other end of the capacitor through the working circuit, which seriously interferes with the stable operation of the circuit and may damage the capacitor and other ancillary equipment. Setting a charging and discharging resistor, through which the charging and discharging current flows, can avoid the above-mentioned problems. The discharge resistor for supercapacitors in rail transit can be flexibly adjusted for discharge time through a switch, with a small size and maintenance free.

Damping resistor

In the high-voltage series compensation system, damping resistors are used in conjunction with devices such as gaps and reactors to discharge residual energy from capacitors. The resistors are required to have high voltage resistance, low inductance, and large thermal capacity. In addition, damping resistors are also required to limit current and absorb energy during the charging and discharging of capacitors in many power transmission, distribution, and power electronics systems.
