Product introduction: Transformers equipped with on load tap changers are called on load tap changers. On load tap changer is a type of transformer that leads out several taps from the transformer winding and passes them through the on load tap changer. While ensuring that the load current is not cut off, the tap position is changed and the effective number of turns is changed, that is, the transformer's voltage ratio is changed to achieve the goal of constant output voltage. The energy during the transformation and tapping process is generally absorbed by a transition resistor to limit the circulating current.
The task of a power transformer is to directly supply electricity to the load center, with the primary side directly connected to the main voltage grid (220 kV and above) or to the regional power grid (35-110 kV). This type of transformer not only provides active power to the load, but also often simultaneously provides reactive power, and generally has a larger short-circuit impedance.
As the regional load changes, if there is no on load tap changer installed, the voltage of the power supply bus will change accordingly. Therefore, China's "Technical Guidelines for Power Systems (Trial)" stipulate that "for transformers of 110 kV and below, it is advisable to consider using load voltage regulation for transformers with at least one level of voltage.".
